Anchor Chain

They are made up of alloy, galvanize and stainless steel that has a connecting links to the anchor, the sizes of chains and anchor are determined/installed by the ship, length, weight and environment of operation.
Types of Chain
Stud-link chain: Has a bar (stud) across each link for extra strength, commonly used in large ships. The studs are found at the beginning and aft of each shackles number
Stud-less chain: Lighter, easier to handle, often used in smaller vessels.
Combination chain-rope: Combination of chain with rope for flexibility. It can be found on smaller boat and yacht.
